Our brains love sugar. Sugar means energy that animals rely on to survive. The sweet flavor stimulates the feeling of happiness in our brains. Brain functions such as thinking, memory, and learning are closely linked to glucose levels and how efficiently the brain uses this fuel source. Animal brains are dependent on sugar as the main fuel.
SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) loves sugar too. An environment with abundant sugar will accelerate the growth.
prepare ingredients
boil the tea
By adding different types of soda drinks into the soup SCOBY grows in, the amount of sugar in the drink is visualized by the thickness of the grown SCOBY.
In the experiment, I took conventional sugar and tea as the control group and tested 6 other sodas to see their growth. These sodas include sparkling water, cream soda, ginger soda, fresca soda grapefruit citrus, diet pepsi cherries, and grape fanta.
The growth process took 16 days.

How much sugar are you drinking in?
As SCOBY needs sugar to grow, the more sugar the soda contains, the faster and thicker the SCOBY grows.
